Gifts for all occasions in the Galleria! The "What is the Deal?" Deal-of-the-Week: October 31, 2004 What is the Deal with Election Fraud? By Jan A. Larson As Election Day 2004 approaches, there has been the inevitable talk in the media about possible fraud: illegals voting, felons voting, dead people voting, minorities not voting, etc. One side denying some the right to vote and the other side letting some vote as often as they like. While that type of fraud is despicable and must be prevented, the election fraud that I'm talking about would be the election of John Kerry. If it should happen, it would constitute the greatest fraud ever foisted on the American public. Kerry has established a long record that absolutely demonstrates that he is not worthy of leading this nation. He is anti-military and anti-defense. He has an affinity for the corrupt government of France and the equally corrupt United Nations. He says he won't give any nation a "veto" over the defense of the United States but his record as an internationalist says otherwise. Kerry has spent the entire campaign blasting President Bush for everything from the war on terrorism, to the economy to the color of oranges. Unlike Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech, Kerry never explains what he means when he delivers his, "I Have a Plan" orations. Kerry stands on his military service as the singular event that qualifies him to be president, but won't release all the records of his military service. What does he not want the public to know? His silence and secrecy speaks volumes. Kerry's economic "plans" are foolhardy. He says that he won't consider any sort of privatization of the Social Security program, selling out future generations to win votes today. Kerry promises to raise the minimum wage, ensuring that many low-wage earners will lose their jobs tomorrow, but buying their votes today. Kerry promises increased government spending on health care and other programs in the trillions but will pay for it by raising taxes on the "rich." His definition of the rich includes the many small business owners that create the very jobs that he blames George W. Bush for losing. Kerry didn't have the decency to resign from the Senate to run for President, as did Bob Dole in 1996, continuing to draw his Senate salary while shirking his duty to represent the people of Massachusetts. They were probably better off without his representation. Kerry lies about the President's plan for Social Security to scare seniors and insists that the President has a secret plan to reinstate the draft. If it is a secret, how does Kerry know about it? More fabrication. More spin. Honesty be damned when the presidency is at stake. He spins his dismal Senate record and his policy positions for political gain. The truth and facts never get in the way of political opportunism for John Kerry. Kerry wants other countries to help in Iraq, but denigrates those nations that are helping as a coalition of the bribed. Kerry says that George W. Bush has done "everything" wrong in Iraq. It was the "wrong war, in the wrong place at the wrong time" but yet he said that knowing what we know today, he would have done the same thing. Kerry is a condescending elitist. Not knowing who might be in the audience at one of the debates, he was sure that only the President, the moderator and himself would be affected by his tax increases on the "rich." Kerry won't hold his deep-seated religious "convictions" get in the way of his politics. He believes life begins at conception, but won't stand in the way of those that would end the lives of the unborn. Kerry is a hypocrite, charlatan and a glad-hander that will say anything his audience wants to hear. He is a con artist who will stop at nothing to become President. He will distort, fabricate, embellish, misrepresent and lie to accomplish his life's ambition. How Americans could elect this man to be the leader of the free world is beyond comprehension. It is said that you can't fool all of the people all of the time, but all it will take to complete this fraud is for half the people to be fooled on November 2. The election of John Kerry will be a mistake that we will regret for the rest of our lives. -- Send feedback to the author.
